In Warframe, progression isn’t just about finishing the main story quests or maxing out a single Warframe. It’s a continuous journey of acquiring new gear, expanding your knowledge, and increasing your overall Mastery Rank (MR). Your MR is a significant indicator of your dedication and unlocks access to more powerful weapons, daily challenges, and a deeper experience within the Origin System.

Climbing the Ranks: Understanding Progression

Every new item contributes to your growth.

• Mastery Rank (MR): This is your overarching player level. You gain Mastery Rank experience (MR XP) by:
  • Leveling up Warframes (up to Rank 30).
  • Leveling up weapons (up to Rank 30).
  • Leveling up companions (up to Rank 30).
  • Completing Junctions (planet transitions).
  • Completing Quests.
• Mastery Rank Test: To increase your MR, you must complete a special MR test upon reaching enough XP. These tests range from combat challenges to movement puzzles. You can practice them beforehand at Cephalon Simaris’s Sanctuary.
• Unlocks & Benefits of Higher MR:
  • Access to more powerful weapons. Many weapons have an MR requirement.
  • Increased daily Standing (reputation) caps with various syndicates.
  • More daily Trades with other players.
  • Increased Mod Capacity on newly acquired, unranked Warframes and weapons.
  • Higher daily Syndicate Mission limits.
• Farming & Resources: A core part of progression involves farming various resources (e.g., Ferrite, Plastids, Circuits) from missions to craft new gear in your Foundry.
• Void Traces & Relics: For unique Prime Warframes and weapons, you’ll delve into Void Fissure missions using Void Relics to collect their components.
