Each map in Among Us is a meticulously designed arena with unique layouts, task locations, vents, and critical sabotage points. Mastering navigation and developing strong map awareness is fundamental to both Crewmates and Impostors. For Crewmates, knowing efficient task routes and common “kill spots” is vital. For Impostors, understanding vent networks and strategic sabotage locations gives them an edge in controlling the flow of the game and executing silent eliminations.
Know Your Ship: Navigating the Spaces of Among Us
Every room, every vent, holds strategic importance.
- The Skeld (Original Ship):
- Layout: A compact, classic map with central hallways.
- Key Areas: Electrical (common kill spot), Security (cameras), MedBay (visual task), Reactor (critical sabotage).
- Vents: Connects many key rooms, often used by Impostors for quick escapes.
- Mira HQ (Headquarters):
- Layout: Features a centralized system for vents, making them a high-risk/high-reward tool for Impostors.
- Key Areas: Comms (critical sabotage), Balcony (isolated), Admin (card swipe task).
- Vents: Interconnected central vent system. Impostors can travel across the map quickly but risk being seen entering or exiting.
- Polus (Research Base):
- Layout: An open-air map with multiple exterior and interior sections, longer sightlines.
- Key Areas: Electrical (common kill spot), O2 (critical sabotage), Office (admin table for checking player locations).
- Vents: Disconnected vents, making them less powerful for quick, long-distance travel, but still useful for short hops.
- Airship (Newest Map):
- Layout: The largest map with multiple floors, moving platforms, and new ways to move (ladders, platforms).
- Key Areas: Engine Room, Cockpit, Vault, Gap Room.
- New Tasks/Interactions: Features new task types and methods of movement, adding complexity.
- Cameras (Security): Available on Skeld, Polus, and Airship. Crewmates can watch specific areas. Impostors must be aware of them.
- Admin Table: Found on most maps (e.g., Admin on Skeld/Mira, Office on Polus). Shows how many players are in each room, useful for tracking large groups or isolated players.
- Doors (Mira HQ, Airship): Impostors can close doors to trap crewmates or block escape routes.
Mastering map knowledge allows Crewmates to move efficiently and Impostors to execute their plans flawlessly.
